Hotel del Almirante

We found a small home bakery in Son Vilar about a 5-6 minute walk away. It also sells bottled water. The garage and petrol station in Son Vilar is currently closed. There’s a regular bus service between Mahon and Es Castell, with the stop a 3-4 minute walk from the hotel. This is a small, special, family-run place with a lot of history in the main building. It seems to attract mostly returning adult guests. The main building has a few upstairs bedrooms, while the rest are on the ground floor just across from it. Both the main building and the other accommodation are very clean and comfortable. The air-conditioned bedrooms are comfortable too. There’s an outdoor pool, and you can see Mahon harbour from the main dining room, a few of the upstairs rooms in the main building and the upstairs sun terrace. The staff are welcoming and helpful throughout.

This peaceful, friendly hotel has plenty of history and sits about equally far from Es Castell and Mahon. A great place to stay, with lovely staff.

We had one of our best holidays here. It’s a beautiful older property with a clean, tidy pool and terrace where you can relax. The staff were really helpful, and the location works well for walking to both Mahon and El Castell. In the evening, El Castell is a lovely destination for its bars and Cafes.

It’s an easy walk to Mahon or Es Castell from this quiet, historic hotel, and there’s a bus stop nearby. Reception can also book a taxi for you. The staff are friendly and helpful. As a vegetarian, I’d just ask them to add veggie burgers to the menu.
