It’s a quiet spot with little going on right outside, but you can walk to pretty much anywhere in town. The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious, with a good bed and USB ports built into the lamps, which came in handy when we’d forgotten ours. Nothing fancy, and there wasn’t much of a view, but it did what we needed. Check-in was self-service, which I hadn’t expected, though entering our passport details was easy. We couldn’t get help finding a taxi one morning in October because there’s no front desk, and cabs nearby were hard to find. A few hours after we left, a text said we still owed a small tourist tax. The payment itself was easy, but the message looked suspicious at first and added a bit of hassle while we were rushing around.

Es Castell is a small area, and this was a lovely base for getting around. The room was clean, fairly new, and basic, just like the photos. There’s no reception, but our entry code arrived on the day we got there, and access from 2 pm worked perfectly. We asked the cleaner for another pillow and got one straight away. The safe wasn’t working, but they promptly said they’d send someone to look at it. We’re enjoying our stay and would recommend the place.

A simple, natural kind of place, rather than somewhere for luxury. We loved the breakfast and the warm welcome from Maria at Vilar Hotel, where it’s served. The hotel is right in the heart of Es Castell, and our stay was perfect: quiet, clean, warm, and new. The staff are young but very kind.

There’s free public parking about a three-minute walk away. The hotel seemed very new and was spotless. Reception doesn’t stay open around the clock, but we got the check-in information by text, so arriving late at night went smoothly. The air conditioning worked well, and the sound insulation was good enough that we barely heard other guests. I’d highly recommend it.
