Agora Hostel

Bar Pigor, one of my favorite places in Estella, is only three minutes away, so I got a lovely bite to eat before heading back for a chat with my newest best friend from Czechia. I wonder if he ended up with the wrong stick in the morning 😴. The ground floor had a great mix of people through the afternoon and evening, which made for a lovely atmosphere. I’ll make a point of staying here again. The bunks seem to help keep the snoring quieter inside the little cubicles, and the layout of my room worked really well. Alphonso gets things off to a good start. He greets you in what seems like almost any language and gives you a quick rundown of how the albergue works. He’s good at noticing when tired pilgrims aren’t taking something in. The boot cupboard by the entrance keeps the rest of the place smelling lovely. There was a mix-up about walking sticks the next morning, and it was handled quietly. Some pilgrims can lose their temper at any hour, so hats off to him for not taking the bait. Thank you.

We had a private room on the top floor with the kids, and everything was clean and worked just as it should. Laundry was quick and only cost a few euros, and breakfast was just right. The staff were really friendly, with lovely smiles. I can’t think of anything that needed improving, unless the elevator could have been faster. Maybe it was meant to encourage people to take the stairs 😉. We’d gladly come back.

My wife has stayed here a few times, and this was my first visit. The owners are lovely and go out of their way to help tired pilgrims. When our bus fell through, Adri spent ages looking into other ways for us to travel. We’re big fans and will stay here again. Fantastic place.

After a long day walking, Adriana made us feel welcome and right at home. She was so friendly. The hostel was new and very clean, and the comfortable beds gave us plenty of privacy. It’s one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at so far on the Camino.
