B&B Zaldu

I haven’t had a more restful stay. It’s a lovely family run B&B, and Pablo and his wife were gracious hosts who went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and had what I needed. Breakfast was delicious, too. Whether you’re visiting Estella or walking the Camino, I’d happily stay here again.

We booked at the last minute because of the heavy rain, and the owner explained everything over the phone when we arrived. Our bikes had a secure garage, and the room was very clean with a great hot shower. There’s coffee making equipment downstairs, though we weren’t allowed to use the kitchen. We cooked pasta on our own gas cooker on the balcony, so we didn’t have to go back out in the rain. A really comfortable place for a bike tour.

We were sent here by another hotel after calling around for a safe place for our bikes. The host was friendly and had a very good garage for them. The room, though, was a huge letdown: perhaps 9 square meters, with a bed too small for two and a mattress that was smelly, far too soft, and badly sagging in the middle. I could barely sleep without pain. I wonder if the host has ever tried it.

The couple who run this B&B are very nice, and there’s a pleasant garden area where you can sit and relax. It’s about a 10 minute walk off the Camino route. We were staying there while walking the Camino, and I’d return.
