The beds are decent, and it's cheap compared with other places. Being right by the ocean is pretty cool, and you can fall asleep to the sound of it. As a home base, though, the town isn't great and there isn't much going on. Service feels strange because there's rarely anyone around, but I guess you still get what you need. There's no kitchen, just a microwave and some dishes. The only sink for washing them is in the bathroom, which badly needs repairs.

What made my stay worthwhile was the people I met. The hostel itself felt pretty uninspiring, though. It’s right by the sea, so you can hear the water, and there’s a beach close by for swimming. The dorm was small, which meant less chance of lots of snoring, and the Wi-Fi seemed decent. I expected to be able to play my trumpet ;) Instead, there are signs everywhere saying things like no trumpet playing, no talking, and no smartphone use. Breakfast is very basic: two slices of white bread, cheese, ham, yogurt, and a couple of pastries. There’s no reception or staff, so it doesn’t have the usual hostel feel. The owner lives nearby and drops in.

There’s no self check-in, and they refused to let me in. If your flight or ferry arrives outside their “business” hours, you’re left out on the street.

No reception, and there’s nowhere to sit or spend time besides the beds and little tables. The room felt like a cave with a mattress.
