Bou Ros Finca Can Veritat

We had a pleasant 13-night stay at Can Veritat, but at this price we expected much better upkeep and preparation. The location is peaceful, with a generous, clean house about a 10-minute drive from Felanitx. We appreciated the mid-stay cleaning, which helped keep things fresh. Several issues affected our comfort and safety. The electrical boxes weren’t properly closed, a serious hazard with our 2-year-old child. The kitchen sink leaked, which was inconvenient and unhygienic. Water pressure was inconsistent, with lots of air in the pipes, and a radiator in an upstairs bedroom made noise even with the heating off. The air conditioning wasn’t working when we arrived, and a technician had to come out. No one had checked it in advance. The terrace parasol was broken too, and it took four days to replace it. Even then, one small parasol wasn’t enough for such a large terrace in the summer heat. We were also badly affected by mosquitoes and midges. We understand they come with the countryside, but without mosquito nets on the bedroom windows it was hard to sleep. We were bitten several times every night, despite repellents and anti-mosquito lights. The outdoor areas needed more care. Several sun loungers were broken or in poor condition, and the garden was unkempt. We even cleared invasive weeds from the lavender area ourselves. The house was hard to find too. A small sign with its name at the entrance to the unpaved private road would make arrival easier. With more care and attention, this place could be much more comfortable and safe. Most of these problems seem like relatively minor, affordable fixes. Given the premium price, we expected better maintenance, preparation, and responsiveness. There’s potential here, but the management needs to be more thoughtful.
