Hostal El Cairo has a great location, and the room was quiet despite being near the street. The person running the place was very communicative and helpful, and everything was spotless. The bed wasn’t very firm, and getting up to the 4th floor wasn’t ideal, but the location and charm made it my favorite.

What a nightmare. The room was small, windowless, and had a shared bathroom, yet it was expensive. When I said what I thought, he lowered the price. He’d even lied on the phone, saying parking was easy, but it’s a pedestrian street. A real rip-off.

We paid €56 for a double room, and I feel completely ripped off. It was on the 4th floor with no elevator, in an apartment where several rooms had doors that barely needed a key. That felt like zero security. The room looked onto a truly disgusting light well, and the bathroom was smaller than a coffin. There was barely room to move or bend down in the shower, with the curtain right against your face. Sitting on the toilet, your chin rests on the sink, and shower water leaks into the room. Parking was a nightmare too. The staff interaction was brief but okay. A curious experience, but to me the room was worth €35 at most.
