Hotel JS Cape Colom - Adults Only

The hotel works really well for an active holiday, and the sports facilities weren't crowded since most guests seemed to be there to relax. In October, the 25-metre lane pool was a lovely 21 degrees. There's also a ladder down into the bay for excellent sea swimming right from the hotel. We were allowed to store our bikes there, and the road riding is good. Porto Colom is at the edge of the eastern sierra, with some good climbs, including 300m+ to the Santuari, and plenty of cafes. The top-floor gym is amazing, with a good selection of machines and free weights, plus incredible views through floor-to-ceiling windows. The staff were great, and breakfast was excellent. Lunch and dinner were okay, though we ate out sometimes for more variety. Our room had a good shower, a comfy bed and a fridge. There are chilled water dispensers, so filling our bottles was easy. Recommended!

The views from the location are stunning, but getting there takes over an hour by car or around two hours on the coach transfer from the airport. The hotel is lovely, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a reasonable range of meals unless someone in your group is a fussy eater. Rooms are basic but clean. With all inclusive, not having drink facilities in the room isn't a big issue, and the balcony and mini-fridge are a real bonus. Sadly, the Jacuzzi was broken. We would have loved to enjoy the view from the 6th floor while using it.

Don't miss the grill at the far end of the serving area. There's always another choice there at lunch and dinner, and at breakfast you can get eggs and bacon. The food overall is good and there's lots to choose from, though the seafood paella always seemed to contain chicken but no seafood. It's a great find if you don't mind being a little off the beaten Majorca trail. The hotel is somewhat secluded, but that's a plus if peace and quiet is what you want. It's adults only and there are sunbeds around the property. You can hire beach towels for a refundable €10 for the week, then pay another non-refundable €6 to exchange yours for a clean one each day. Just factor in the cost of transport for your holiday. Reception can explain the local bus service. For the Caves de Drac, the bus takes about 30 minutes and drops you right outside. Book tickets online: we didn't and had to wait over two hours for our slot. Even so, doing it ourselves cost a fraction of the excursions listed.

This was my second year here. The views are amazing and the staff are friendly. My flight and transfer were badly delayed on the first night, but reception helped me out and looked after my luggage while I got some dinner. The pool is gorgeous, and the location is mostly quiet in October. Hopefully I'll be back next year ❤️
