Camping Sierra de La Culebra

We came by bike at the end of May 2018, during a quiet low season with only a few other people around. The pitches sit on small raised sections, edged by concrete paths, so getting a car onto one takes some effort. Checkout was awkward because reception doesn't open until 10 am. A few guests were waiting to pay and leave, and after they rang the keeper, she hurried in. The facilities are very basic and offer little privacy, with only a curtain around the shower.

The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the services are great, with plenty of hot water. Getting on and off the pitches means dealing with raised curbs. We haven't seen the pool since both visits were out of season. There are lots of lovely old villages and walks nearby, and the location works well for trips further afield. The restaurant food is good, too. We've come for a few days in two years running because we love how quiet and peaceful the campsite feels.

After a long day on the motorcycle in punishing winds, we arrived tired and a bit frazzled. They took good care of us, with a warm welcome, good food, and large jugs of beer. Exactly what we needed. Thank you, and all the best for the future.

The staff are lovely, and everything is clean and well organised. The pitches are beautiful, with chamomile making the whole place smell wonderful. The restaurant and cafe are great, and we're sorry to be leaving. What a fabulous spot!
