Hotel La Cala Finestrat

We came back from a really memorable stay and can’t wait to return. The hotel was beautiful, our room spotless, and the staff so friendly. From the room you get a spectacular view over La Cala Finestrat bay. Breakfast is served at The Strat Restaurant, where a lovely lady who won Masterchef runs things. You can choose freshly prepared Cooked English, Continental, or Healthy option breakfasts, and they were all delicious. We also had the fine dining menu, three courses for 33 Euro, and it was so nice. There are plenty of great bars and restaurants nearby. For central or new Benidorm, buses come by every 20 minutes, and we used them often. They cost 2 euros, and public transport was easy. The Seaview was spectacular, too. Everything felt perfect. Highly recommended.

For a laid-back break, I’d happily recommend this hotel. It’s about 45 mins from the airport, and a taxi into benidorm Central 'madness' takes 10 mins and costs £12 euro. The hotel’s Mitchellin star chef means there are fantastic food options, too. We came for three days because of the location, and you can walk straight from the front doors onto the beach. It’s a lovely cove, almost surreal in how quiet and peaceful it is. The beach is cleaned mechanically every night, then checked with metal detectors in the morning. I usually choose 4 or 5 star hotels when reviews are good, so I wasn’t expecting much from a 3 star place. I was wrong. The hotel was modern and bright, clean throughout, and the rooms were spotless. The staff were all fantastic and helpful. Our room and towels were refreshed daily. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

We stayed for four nights at the start of November, and the hotel was right on the beach, spotlessly clean, and lovely. It was perfect for some winter sun. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, especially Silvina, who looks after breakfast. I had my birthday during our stay, and they left a small bottle of sparkling wine and two glasses for us to find. Such a lovely touch. Thanks to everyone for a great break.

The location is gorgeous, practically right on the ocean, and that beachfront setting is what makes Hotel La Cala Finestrat shine. Our room was clean, but the view of a rather questionable back alley wasn’t much of a Mediterranean escape. I’d upgrade to a balcony room next time. The bed was two single beds pushed together, with a gap in the middle that made our romantic getaway feel like an obstacle course. Breakfast was included, but it doesn’t start until 8:30 AM, so we only made it once. It was decent: I had a solid croissant, Wayne had the full English, and the coffee was the star of the stay. The night staff were kind and did their best, though they didn’t speak English and communicating turned into a bit of charades. A nice enough stay, but there were a few moments that left us wondering what was going on. Come for the beach, and brace yourself for the bed.
