Casa de San Martín

We spent four days here with three generations of our family, and none of us wanted to leave, kids and grandparents alike. The remote, peaceful setting has open views and a serenity that’s hard to match. David was a fantastic host, always helpful and accommodating, and the welcoming staff, beautiful rooms, delicious food, and careful attention to detail made the stay feel perfect. We can’t recommend Casa de Martin and David highly enough.

We were glad to have David and the team’s suggestions for walks and places to visit, and also loved being able to switch off in the beautiful house and gardens. Everyone was welcoming and personable, and the food was great. A fantastic, tranquil base for exploring the area. Thanks for having us, we hope to come back.

After dinner, I’d love to have a nightcap, then wake up to a sumptuous breakfast. Evenings here sound lovely, with a drink curled up in a corner of the sofa as the light fades. Staying a few days, or longer, really is amazing: relaxing, calm, stress-free, beautiful, idyllic, and more. David and his lovely team took fantastic care of us, and seemed to give every guest the same attention. I can’t wait to return.

Getting here means driving up a 5 kilometer gravel road, but it’s worth the effort. Casa San Martin is beautifully decorated and perched high on a hill, looking over a green valley with mountains beyond. Mario, the owner, was friendly, polite, and helpful, and dinner was superb. My daughter said during the meal, “This must be what heaven is like.” That says it best. If you get the chance to visit, take it. You’ll be glad you did.
