Hotel Playa Langosteira

The staff were very nice, and the rooms were spacious. We had breakfast once, a typical Spanish hotel spread with cheese, meat, yogurt, bread, and so on. Our room got very hot because the air conditioning didn’t work. We couldn’t leave the window open at night because the hotel is on the main road into town, with traffic going by constantly. A room that doesn’t face the main road would probably be okay.

We booked this for the final night of our Camino walk, thinking we deserved it 🤣. The listing advertised a “spa” alongside WiFi and air conditioning, but we only found out later that the spa cost an extra $36 euro!!!!! The confirmation email said breakfast cost extra, which was expected, but didn’t mention the spa. We were very disappointed. For the same price, there are other options with pools and better facilities. We’d booked on a no-refund basis, so we were stuck. Check the details carefully and don’t rely on the pretty pictures, which are misleading. If you don’t mind being misled or don’t care about money, it might work for you. Otherwise, find somewhere better.

The rooms were really clean, modern in their decor and fittings, and had comfortable beds with plenty of space for clothes and moving around. The beach access path is right across the road, and the sandy beach is safe for swimming. It’s a short 20-minute walk to Finistere town, with lovely places to eat and drink all along its colourful, pretty narrow streets. Youssef, Morgana, and Carmen looked after us well. We had a late breakfast and would’ve liked more fruit and hard-boiled eggs. Carmen kindly brought us several jugs of hot water for tea, Youssef served drinks and made us feel welcome, and Morgana was friendly and helpful. After her shift ended, the manager took care of us and brought tea and drinks too. The spa staff were also friendly and helpful. The spa was immaculately clean, the best I’ve ever been in, with different jets to massage aching limbs and backs. We spent a few hours there for €15 per person. If you arrive without a swimsuit, you can buy one for €7!! Breakfast is the only meal available, but there’s plenty of room to relax in the comfortable bar and lounge, where drinks are served. Very good value for money in every way.

We were a group of 40 walkers and stayed four nights at this lovely family hotel. The rooms were fantastic, the staff very friendly, and the service excellent. We enjoyed a good breakfast and hot meals. We highly recommend it and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.
