Hotel Riu Palace La Mola

I had a great stay at the Riu La Mola and can't wait to return. The atmosphere was relaxing but still lively enough to keep things interesting. The beach was beautiful and felt like the Caribbean. Food quality was high, and I loved the Al carte restaurant. Live singers performed every other night at 9.30, and drink prices seemed fair, except for water, which I found far too expensive. I was glad to find a complimentary bottle of water in our room on the second day. The welcome drink was much appreciated and started the holiday off nicely. I stayed in an entry-level room and liked its size, decor, and cleanliness, but the lack of privacy surprised me. The rooms are arranged in an L shape, so neighbors can see straight in. I had to keep the curtains closed or stay dressed. I'd suggest considering an upgraded room for more privacy. The hotel is popular with families with young children. We hired good-quality bikes for 24 euros, and I'd recommend the hotel's bike service. The sunsets from the hotel beach are amazing.

The whole area was stunning, and the hotel and grounds were beautifully kept. We loved the Krystal restaurant, and the buffet had a good variety, though it got so busy that it sometimes felt like a school canteen. The staff were fantastic, kind, helpful, and efficient, and the hotel had a lovely atmosphere. Entertainment was very good, though I would have preferred it to start earlier. The animation team were outstanding and made us feel welcome. My daughter and I had a wonderful stay. Our room was really nice, and when water started leaking, they moved us to an even nicer one to make up for it, which we really appreciated. The hotel is on a very steep slope, with lots and lots of stairs to reach the pools, restaurants, and bars. We managed because we're young and fit, but it would be very difficult with children or elderly guests. I saw a review calling the pool murky, but it's immaculate; the tile color just makes the water look a little cloudy. My only other wish is for an adults-only dining area, to make meals less erratic. We absolutely loved it and will come again.

The bed was probably one of the best I've ever slept on, and both the pool area and beach were great. We stayed three nights and wished we could have stayed longer. Breakfast and dinner were included, and the food was amazing. The pool bar staff were friendly and welcoming. Everything else was perfect, though check-in left a bad impression. The receptionist seemed uninterested and, honestly, lazy. He didn't fix my partner's incorrect nationality and age in the system, likely because he didn't want to make the effort. He also didn't tell us we could reserve other restaurants on-site in advance, so by the time we found out they were fully booked and we missed the chance to try them.

The hotel was lovely and spotless, with very good buffet food and plenty of choice. Staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The only downside was all the stairs, even just to reach the first pool. I have a back problem at the moment and found it difficult, and one guest was on crutches. There was no mention anywhere that the hotel might not suit people with limited mobility. Apart from that, it was amazing.
