Snö Villa Sallent 3

The staff were the only good part of this stay. The place felt more like a youth hostel than a hotel, with school groups of teenagers everywhere and noise constantly carrying through the building. After skiing all day, it was impossible to relax. The SPA was mostly shut because they couldn't let more than 30 teenagers use it at once, and there was nowhere quiet in the evening to read or use a laptop or tablet. There was also a weed smell on my floor, again, apparently from the teenagers. Restaurant choices were very limited, and I had dinner there only because it was prepaid. I booked through esquiades and paid for a private shuttle to the slopes, but it didn't exist. This ruined my ski holiday. The worst Formigal experience ever.

We were four people and couldn't make it because snow blocked the roads. They charged us €400 each and gave us nothing back. If you've paid in advance, don't trust these people. There was no leniency at all.

The sauna was a lovely way to ease the aches after skiing, and our room was cosy, with enough space for our equipment. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The helpful lady at reception answered our questions warmly, and housekeeping wished us a good day each morning. The breakfast buffet had hot plates, juice, pastries, ham, and cheese, plus plant-based milk and gluten-free bread on request. Beans with the hot food would have been a nice addition. Breakfast staff were attentive and cheerful, and all our requests over the four days were handled without fuss. We were two people on a four-night breakfast package that included three-day ski lift passes, at a great price. The central location was close to bars and shops, while the slight rise gave us nice views. We had a fantastic stay and would recommend it. Hope to come back!

The hotel was okay, but honestly, avoid eating at the restaurant. For a country known for good food, this place was rock bottom.
