Our apartment was outside the complex, beside a noisy road, something that wasn't mentioned when we booked. Cars kept rushing past, and the children had to walk along this road to get to the pool. The parking nearby was poor and felt dangerous. The apartment itself was old and badly maintained, with lots of faults: the fans had problems, some kitchen burners didn't work, the microwave was rusty and old, and fixtures were loose or broken. The wooden beams over the small terrace were rotten and felt unsafe, and the outside area was dusty and neglected. At some point the door had been forced open. We were told the previous guest had somehow broken it, and there are pictures. The owner said we should have looked at the Booking pictures, but they don't show the apartment's true condition, inside or out. He said he could have refunded us if we hadn't booked through Booking, and they said they'd had many issues and overbookings with the platform. We felt ripped off, and the stay was far below what we expected. We filed an official complaint and are considering further action. You can fix up an apartment, but an owner's attitude and lack of honesty, in my opinion, are harder to fix. I can't recommend this place and would say stay away if you don't want your vacation spoiled. We found much better for less here. The island itself, though, is highly recommended.
