Wonderful Apartment in Mijas Golf Ref 104

The pool and attached jacuzzi were a welcome relief. We stayed in a three-bedroom apartment with two bathrooms, a kitchen, a big living room and dining area, plus an enormous balcony or terrace with a decent view. The problem was the air-conditioning, which didn't cool the room at all. We complained to reception five times over three days, and maintenance checked it twice, but nothing changed. They said other guests had complained that it got too cold, which I don't believe. The temperature never dropped below 29°C, and it was extremely hot outside. I woke up sweating several times during the night.

Our room floors hadn't been washed properly, so we ended up doing them ourselves. I didn't mention it to reception. If you want something done properly, do it yourself ☺️. The hotel is nice, though a little dated, and some gardening and fresh paint would help. More sliced fruit at breakfast would also be nice.

The staff were arrogant and rude, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Cleaning was awful: however many times they came, the room still seemed dirty, and I kept finding hair on the floor after they had supposedly cleaned. The furniture and bedding were in bad shape too, with holes in the couches, chairs, blankets and pillow covers. The appliances were poor, and even the fridge door wouldn't close properly. Room service was probably the worst part of the hotel.

The one good part was waking up to a beautiful sunrise over the resort and out to sea. Breakfast was included and very good, with lots of hot and cold choices. The room itself was a letdown. We booked a double and were apparently upgraded, but got the same room, with a kitchenette containing no cutlery, plates, pans or anything else. The cupboard and fridge doors were broken, and neither the phone nor TV in the bedroom worked. They wanted €25 to supply cutlery and the other basics. This hotel could be much better with a refresh and new management.
