Hotel IRARAGORRI-ETXEA

The breakfast was fabulous, high quality, freshly prepared, and delicious. The service was kind, and I felt at home and valued as a guest. The train to Bilbao casco viejo leaves from across the road, which is really practical. I picked the hotel for its handy location if you have a car, with easy free parking in the yard, and for its restaurant, which is probably very good. I missed the opening hours and didn’t get to eat there this time, maybe another time. The road noise did affect my sleep. There was a ventilator but no proper A/C. The nights weren’t very hot, so it wasn’t a major problem. Warmly recommended.

The room was spacious, well equipped, and clean, and the service was friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a lovely Spanish vintage feel, though the floor squeaks. Our room was roughly above the kitchen, so we could smell the cooking. The nearby road can be busy, and there’s also a railway track next to the hotel.

Breakfast was lovely, but I wouldn’t choose this place in summer. The room was unbearably hot, even on a cool day with chilly nights. We had the windows open and still sweated through it. The truck traffic in the busy industrial area and the train horns were blisteringly loud. There was rarely anyone at the front desk, and they didn’t answer calls or emails.

A fantastic stay, with amazing food.
