Hotel Rural La Data

Breakfast was a letdown: no eggs or yogurt, just one kind of cheap cheese. When I asked for “a couple” more pieces of toast, I got exactly two. It starts at 9.30 h., too late if you’re heading to the snow, and the option to eat earlier was only posted on the wall, not mentioned by staff. Lunch and dinner also felt overpriced, like sunny eggs with chips for 8 €. Our triple room had two floors, with the upper bed reached by a long, slippery iron staircase at a 65% incline. I don’t think it’s suitable for children under 8. The lower bed took up nearly all the room, and the closet was only 60 cm. wide. The shower gel and shampoo were the same product, and the faucet was the cheapest kind. Overall, it felt pricey.

A lovely rural home with simple, good food and spotless cleanliness, set in a beautiful landscape. The atmosphere was especially friendly and respectful, and it was peaceful and quiet in nature. Excellent value for money.

After a tiring ride, the three of us cyclists found clean, basic rooms with WiFi and baths, plus an excellent home-cooked dinner. The owner was wonderfully helpful and made sure we could secure our bikes. He’s happy to speak either English or Spanish.
