Hotel Cibeles Playa

Breakfast was the biggest letdown. My partner and I usually look forward to it at hotels, but here about 90% was supermarket bakery food in plastic packaging, and the rest was bread and cold eggs. The management really should review it, since breakfast is a big part of a hotel stay. We also found out when we arrived that there are no double beds, which we weren’t happy about. The single beds were still comfortable, though, and the room was clean enough to make us feel safe in the difficult times we’re going through this year. Cleanliness throughout was spotless, we had a good room with a fantastic view, and most of the staff were really friendly. Overall, our stay was okay.

The pool is on the small side, but it’s fine for a quick dip. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the hotel is conveniently close to the beach. Bring earplugs, though. Doors closing and nighttime noise from the restaurants downstairs can be pretty upsetting. One receptionist, Mila, really impressed me. She was capable and incredibly helpful, sorting out any issues quickly and always with a smile. A true professional.

The food was excellent, with a buffet breakfast and lunch offering a lovely range of hot and cold choices. Staff kept an eye on it so nothing ran out or went cold. Public areas and the bedroom were extremely clean, and housekeeping came daily, changing the sheets at least every other day. We asked for extra pillows, and they arrived within minutes. The team seemed happy to help with anything. Staff were friendly but professional and gave excellent service. I can’t praise the hotel enough. My only fault is that it’s rated three stars when it should be four. Thanks Cibeles, see you next year.

The food was okay, but pretty basic and could definitely be better. Still, I’d use the hotel again. It’s clean, has a nice pool area, and is in a great location, about 300 metres from the beach.
