OAR Cottage

We had a great time at OAR Cottage. The property is beautiful, with a rustic-chic feel, in the picturesque town of Biscay, Spain. It did come across a little formal, though, and we'd expected somewhere more relaxed.

Set in lovely countryside, this small hotel is made of stone and recycled wood, with the sort of design you'd see in Archictectural Digest. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very quiet. Exquisite place.

Room 1 was really cozy, and we had the best night's sleep. The pillows, sheets, and blankets were amazing quality. The interior is worth mentioning too: rustic stone and wood paired with modern details like the bathroom tap, bathtub, and reading lamps. Come here for a getaway where you can do NOTHING. There's literally nothing to do or see, just enjoy the silence and lush greenery.

The triple room with a Bath felt romantic and welcoming, though we were sad to hand it over to the kids! Our hostess was exceptionally helpful, with great tips on local restaurants and the best place to park for the nearby Guggenheim museum in Bilbao. Breakfast was superb, and the honesty bar was well stocked. The accommodation is stylish, comfortable, relaxing, and beautifully decorated, with stunning surroundings. This casa rural is a destination in itself. We loved our stay so much that we hope to return for several days and enjoy it longer. One of the best places we've stayed anywhere in the world. You deserve multiple awards. Thanks for a fantastic stay!
