Hotel Quercus Tierra

A lovely little hotel right in the middle of an old village. It was very clean, the staff were awesome, and there was great care given to the details.

Our room stayed so cold that it was never comfortable, and we could feel a clear temperature difference between its floor and the lobby just a few meters away. We called the owner at the start of our stay to report it. She said the underfloor heating was always on and could only be adjusted with the room thermostat. We tried changing it several times, but the room remained colder than we expected. The whirlpool tub was another problem, especially since we had specifically paid for it. The first time we filled it, the water was at 32°C, then it slowly fell to 30°C instead of warming up. We waited quite a while, but it never got hotter, so with the room already cold, we couldn't use the tub. The next day we asked Camila, a hotel staff member and the only pleasant part of our stay, to help us reach the owner. We couldn't get hold of her and got no solution. After we had checked out and paid, we tried to settle the issue cordially. The owner responded with a series of excuses, saying the heating worked properly and that the tub was set to 36º. We don't know how she checked the heating, since she hadn't been there since Saturday afternoon, and those claims clearly didn't match what we experienced. We'd booked a room with a whirlpool tub for a weekend at the end of January, in a beautiful area. The stay was so bad that I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.

There isn't even a reception desk, and when something goes wrong, no one answers. Breakfast is sparse, with no choice, and the towels are old and there aren't many of them. The jacuzzi is about the only thing worth mentioning. This hotel is going downhill, and it's a real shame they mislead people like this.

Everything's wood, and the place feels cozy and very well set up. It's a great spot to switch off, with very competitive prices. I can't say much about the service because it's mostly automated, though to be fair, nothing went wrong. I'd recommend it 100%.
