We’ve already booked dinner for next month and are really looking forward to it. Lunch at €16.95 each, plus drinks, was one of the best meals we’ve had since moving to Spain in March this year, and well worth the 45-minute drive. The food was exceptional, and so was the service. We both had bananas in rum and cinnamon sauce to finish. My wife chose seafood chowder, then slow-cooked beef with mushroom sauce, while I had pate followed by pig cheeks. We sat outside in the hotel’s back garden, where the pool, water feature and greenery made it feel peaceful and relaxed, almost as if we were somewhere else. The small terrace at the front has tables for smokers, and there’s also a little wine shop by reception with a very nice selection. It was our first time at Tikar Hotel, and the earlier reviews of its dining were well justified.

Sean really knows his wine, so come back for a tasting after a meal. The lunchtime menu del dia is amazing value at €16.50, with a great range of choices for different tastes. We could just relax and enjoy the delicious food on the lovely, calm terrace by the pool. It feels like a hidden oasis, tucked away from everything.

We went for lunch rather than staying at the hotel. Outstanding food and service, easily the best Del Dia in the area. We didn’t get any food photos because it was gone too quickly!

We’ve tried the menu del día at lunchtime and the main menu in the evening, and we’ve also enjoyed the jazz and wine tasting nights. The food, wine, owners and atmosphere are all great. Everything has always been excellent.
