A walk along the nearby beach is a nice perk, and the suburb is very quiet. That might suit you if you want a small getaway, though it can feel too quiet if your main plan is to see Barcelona. Depending on traffic, getting into the city by cab takes around 30-60 minutes, and traffic is often an issue. I liked the stay, but the rates felt a little steep.

Not being able to control the temperature in our own suite was the biggest problem. The hotel chooses whether the whole building uses heat or AC, and guests are left to deal with it. In 2025, that’s unacceptable, especially with our 11-month-old baby who had a fever. Maintenance staff were also sent up smelling strongly of cigarettes, which made things even more unpleasant. Mina at the front desk was kind, professional, and genuinely tried to resolve my issue. She was the only bright spot, since the property’s poor management limited what she could do. The manager, Neos, was unbelievably rude and refused to speak with me by phone. That’s unacceptable when dealing with any guest, let alone one with high status. I was extremely disappointed with my stay at AC Hotel Gava Marriott. It fell far short of what I expect from a Marriott and honestly felt more like a Motel 6. Unless management and basic amenities see major changes, I wouldn’t recommend staying here at all.

The pool and direct beach access give this hotel a mini-resort feel. It’s also very close to Barcelona, less than 25 minutes from Sants train station and 10 from the airport. The staff were warm and helpful, especially the whole front desk team. A quietly excellent Marriot property, and a real gem.

We were really impressed by Elena at the front desk, the most professional team member we met. The hotel itself has lovely clean gardens, shady places to sit, and beautiful rooms. We were upgraded to one with a terrace and garden access, which was especially nice. The location is great too, with direct beach access and Gavà just a short walk away. Service was the letdown. They seemed seriously understaffed, even off-season when the restaurant wasn’t crowded. We waited 45 minutes for omelettes at breakfast, and guests had to find their own cutlery and napkins because the waiters weren’t keeping up with the tables. Everything took ages, including dinner, and the food was below average. We stayed June 7-10, 2025, and had two rooms. The experience wasn’t as good as I’d hoped, though not bad enough to rule out coming back. I’d probably return for another short trip, but skip breakfast next time.
