The reception staff were kind enough to point me toward a restaurant that served food before 8pm, which was a rare find. They were extremely helpful, and I had a nice breakfast. My room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel is very close to the Camino path. I stayed one night while walking the Camino del Norté, and the negative reviews had made me apprehensive, but I had a pleasant stay. There isn't much life or soul here, though. It's really just a place to sleep and have breakfast, with no dinner service. Don't expect much and it's perfect for what it is: a clean room, friendly reception, and a nice breakfast.

The staff made it clear from the moment I arrived that they care about how guests feel. This was the most welcoming reception I've had on my trip. The hotel is old-fashioned in a good way, with a very comfortable room, and it's right at the edge of the centre. Cyclists are well catered for, and breakfast was a good way to start the day. Guernica is a lovely town, and I'll be back, so I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

It's about an eight-minute walk from the centre, not far from the start of town. Having air conditioning made this feel like a proper three-star hotel, a treat compared with the simpler places along the Camino de Santiago. The one problem was that the shower water didn't drain quickly enough.

The room was bigger than usual and felt a little luxurious in an old-fashioned way. There was a large bathroom with a window and natural light, and the bed was comfortable. The guy at reception was friendly and helpful. We skipped breakfast, though I was told it was great. A great stay.

We had a very comfortable night on the Camino, with a great room and deck. Breakfast was fabulous and served from 7:00am, and the hotel is handy for the old town and restaurants. One tip: use the AC and don't leave the door open like we did, or the mosquitoes 🦟 will get in. Otherwise, fabulous, and I highly recommend it.
