Hotel La Polar

The room was nice and big, and the staff were very friendly. Having parking made things easier, and there's a café attached. From the hotel, it was a nice walk along the beach to Gijon's restaurant area. The beach is close by too. It was quite expensive, though, perhaps because we stayed on a Friday night.

We found it good value, with clean rooms and comfortable beds. Staff were friendly, and the cafeteria was good. There's a big public parking lot nearby, and both the beaches and the center are within walking distance.

Toxic, polarized, disrespectful. I don't understand how this hotel has nearly 50 percent positive reviews. I've spoken with people in this city, and they say the boss is well known as a difficult and unpleasant woman. She'll take your money, your dignity and your rights as a customer. Where she puts them, I don't know. I can only imagine. Most of the staff are wonderful, but the boss is toxic, and the atmosphere turns toxic when she's there. It can't be easy to work there. If you don't heed my considered, sincere and genuine warning, good luck. I'll feel terrible for the staff if the hotel falls, but they'll find a better place to work, be and exist. The boss couldn't find peace if it were 99 balls in a ball pit of one hundred. Peace, love, respect. Fawlty Towers and Bates Motel had a baby. It's not a comedy. I swear on my honour this review comes from real experience. This isn't a shill review. As for the 49 percent, who knows? God knows.

It's very close to the train station, exactly what we were looking for!
