EL Porxo B&B

We only stayed one night, but it was a lovely surprise. There’s private parking, and the outdoor area is well kept, calm, and quiet. The welcoming atmosphere made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Our clean, comfortable room meant we slept well. The host spoke excellent English and went out of their way to book us a wonderful restaurant. The service was outstanding, with thoughtful care in every detail. We highly recommend this charming, well-run place in Girona.

We used this as a base for cycling and had a great time. The host was flexible and kept in touch really well. Would recommend.

We felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. The friendly host was always happy to help, and the whole setup was high quality and worked well. We couldn’t find a single fault. Highly recommended.

The bedrooms were lovely, and the pool and sunbeds made for a peaceful two-day stay. It’s a beautiful place, though getting into town takes some planning: allow about a 30-minute walk or roughly €10 for a taxi. Girona was lovely, and I really enjoyed our visit. Bring mosquito spray in summer, I got bitten alive! I did have a few reservations about how the place is run. It should decide whether it’s a B&B or a hotel. Breakfast wasn’t included and cost quite a bit extra. We also weren’t allowed to eat or drink anything we’d bought elsewhere in the public areas. That was a shame, as we would have stayed in for dinner one night if we could have ordered takeaway and eaten by the pool. There’s no substantial food to order at the B&B, just snacks and drinks. I’d also have liked to come and go freely, but each time we had to ask the host to open the gate or buzz us in. He was always available, so it wasn’t too much trouble. Despite those things, we really enjoyed the stay.
