I had a very disappointing stay. After breakfast at the hotel, I started feeling ill soon afterward. Since it was the only meal I’d had that day, I believe I may have had food poisoning. I had to go home and spent the next two days recovering, unable to go out or eat properly. That’s not how I wanted to spend Christmas. The room was uncomfortable too: it was very hot and stuffy, the air conditioner didn’t work properly and only blew hot air, and the window faced a wall with no natural light. On my last day, construction noise and drilling from somewhere nearby woke me early. Each issue might have been manageable by itself, but together with the illness and discomfort, the stay was very negative and didn’t meet expectations.

The room was clean and nothing special, and apart from one issue it was a pleasant hotel. I’d asked for a quiet room away from the lifts, which they arranged, but they put me on the street side. I think the street was noisier than the lift: I heard cars, revving motors, the trash collector, and other sounds all night. The location is perfect for exploring Girona’s old town.

The room was spacious, and the hotel made it easy to wander around Girona and come back without any trouble. Everything we wanted to see or do was at most 12-15 minutes away. Staff were lovely, accommodating, and friendly, and we could communicate easily in English. We only stayed three nights but had a really good time, and everything was clean. My small gripes: our room’s Aircon was so loud we couldn’t leave it on at night, even in the middle of a very hot summer. Also, the ceiling light in the corridor between the bedroom and bathroom didn’t work.

Being close to the center was about the only positive. The room was tiny and nothing like the photos on the site or on google. Its window looked onto a plastic sheet that rattled all night as rainwater poured onto it. The bathroom was old and smelly. At checkout, the receptionist shushed me when I tried to share my experience, which was below acceptable. The parking they advertise is actually public parking within walking distance, and it’s cheaper to pay there directly than through the hotel. I don’t recommend this place at all. It was one of the few bad experiences I’ve had while traveling.
