Barcelo Tenerife

The people and the atmosphere at this hotel made the trip for me. I travelled alone, but never felt lonely, and for once I didn’t even want to go sightseeing. I was so happy spending time at the hotel. I’m absolutely going back, especially for the activities, entertainment team and staff. Thank you, Asia, Manu, Nico, Manuel and David for making it such a memorable stay. Asia ran yoga and Pilates, and her classes were energising, welcoming and really well led. Manu brought loads of fun to the pool games and daily activities, and was attentive when anyone needed something. Nico and David made sure everyone could join in and brought so much friendly energy to the games. I only spoke with Manuel briefly, but he was warm and welcoming too, and clearly part of the same engaging team. I was there in February, just after my birthday, and it was one of the best holidays I’ve had. The hotel itself was beautiful, my room looked stunning and had a fantastic view. I especially liked the modern glass door shower and toilet design. There were activities all day and into the evening, with great nighttime entertainment too. I’d say this deserves five stars, not four.

Arturo took us on a walk through a beautiful nature reserve, and his cheerful enthusiasm made it even more enjoyable. The staff were also incredibly kind and welcoming, so we felt at ease straight away. We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend the experience.

The food was top notch, with plenty of variety from day to day, and the all inclusive drinks included international booze. I had a really enjoyable stay. The rooms were modern and clean, and the staff were kind and greeted us warmly. The location worked well for me since I didn’t mind seeing and hearing planes landing at nearby TFS Airport. I can see that bothering some people, though being only a 15 minute drive away was a big plus. I’d stay here again.

We asked for a quiet room and got one, with no noise late at night or early in the morning. Staff across the resort were very good, and the drinks and cocktails were tasty and well made. The buffet wasn’t as extensive as at some other hotels, but there was enough for us. One day our room wasn’t serviced, probably by accident. I mentioned it on the app the next day, and it was handled right away and more professionally than I expected. A film crew also used parts of the hotel at different times. It was quite interesting, and they did their best to work around guests. At one point they even offered us coffee from their trolley. My one complaint is that even as all inclusive guests, we couldn’t have one or two meals at the à la carte restaurants without paying an extra surcharge. Do the San Blas nature reserve or the Starlight walk arranged by the hotel if you’re interested. They’re cheap and easy ways to learn a bit about the local area.
