Hotel Anacapri

The room was on the small side, but spotlessly clean, and you’re right among countless restaurants. Kathy and Roberto at the desk were wonderful. Kathy gave us useful advice on dining and visiting the Alhambra. The location is hard to beat, and I’d highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed on 28/11/2025 to see the town and the Alhambra, about a 15-minute walk away. The hotel is just off the Main Street, with a clean, open reception and a good spot to sit, rest, or eat. Roberto helped with local sights and general advice, and arranged our car collection. The man who handles the cars picked ours up outside and returned it at the time we chose. Thanks, Roberto, we really enjoyed our stay. Getting there by car can be confusing because of the one-way system. We missed the first turn and had to go via the Arc de Elvira, continuing down the back street to red bollard gates with an intercom. Buzz and say Hotel Anacapri, then follow the red route, turn right onto the main road, go right at the lights with Burger King on your right, and take the first right into the back streets by the hotel. If you miss that turn, you’ll need to loop around again. Hannigan & Sons down the road is a good pub with live music on weekends, and we met plenty of locals and visitors there.

The hotel was clean and in a great location. Wi-Fi didn’t work in rooms 309 and 310, which was disappointing because we had to go downstairs to the lobby to get online.

The location is good, the place is clean, and the front desk staff were helpful and friendly. It’s close to lots of restaurants, too. Still, it’s a three-star place to sleep and shower, so don’t expect a four- or five-star room. We stayed seven nights while travelling through Spain, and the rooms were extremely small, even compared with the small rooms we’d seen during three months in Japan. There was no room to open luggage, so our suitcases sat by the bed. The closets were small, the beds were short enough that my feet stuck out, and the foam mattress had thin sheets. Luckily, there was a blanket in the closet, because the AC is right beside the bed and blows directly on you. The rooms are sparse, with no real amenities: just a kettle and two tea bags. No instant coffee, espresso pods, or bottled water, so bring your own coffee or head downstairs for the basic €12 buffet. The walls are thin, there’s lots of hallway noise, the TV is tiny and stuck in a corner, and the towels are thin.
