Casa de la Catedral

We booked two nights, but left after one because the experience was so bad. The room and lobby entrance both smelled awful, and we couldn’t figure out why. The shower stall was so cramped we couldn’t bend down to wash our feet, and construction noise downstairs made it hard to sleep. They had mistakenly given our room to someone else, so we waited a long time in a dark stairway for a staff member to work out what had happened. It was very badly organized. We’d chosen the place partly because luggage storage was advertised and was a priority for us, but there was no storage. Instead, they offered only a ten percent discount on public lockers somewhere else. We don’t recommend it.

The location worked really well for sightseeing and eating out, and even Alhambra is only about a 25-minute walk away. My room was beautiful and had a wonderful view of the cathedral. I messed up my reservation, but they did everything they could and managed to fit me in for the three nights I thought I had booked. I can’t recommend the place enough.

We loved the incredible cathedral view from our studio apartment. You can hear the plaza all the time, though, so whether that tradeoff suits you is a personal choice.

The rooms are huge and comfortable, and I loved having a balcony right in the heart of the city. Outside noise doesn’t bother me, that’s what Spain is all about. Really impressed with this accommodation.
