Bright & Elegant City Centre 3 BR Apart

Breakfast was delicious each morning, and the staff serving it were very nice. Our room and the common areas were clean and well kept. We stayed three nights, from Wednesday, November 12th to Saturday, November 15th. The towels could be better quality and should be changed daily. The front desk was the worst part, especially on night shifts. On Thursday the 13th and Friday the 14th, the worker’s customer service was clearly poor. We’d gone outside Granada on Friday and rented a car. When we came back in heavy rain, we parked in the hotel garage and told the front desk as soon as we entered the lobby, asking how to pay. The staff member rolled her eyes instead of helping and acted unprofessionally. The night before, her body language and attitude had also been unpleasant. After we moved the car to the correct spot, we asked how to pay for a bottle of water, and she was awful to us again. We chose the Occidental for convenience, but we won’t stay there again. We’re professionals who train people in customer service, and the front desk staff urgently need thorough customer service and bias-awareness training.

We had a great stay at Occidental Granada over thanksgiving break, and we’d be happy to return on another visit. The rooms are spacious and have useful amenities like a safe, tea and coffee station, and comfortable beds. Our bathroom was roomy too, with a heater that was a real blessing in the cold November weather. Breakfast was extensive and very good, and the staff were wonderful and helpful. The only trouble was that the garage was full, so we had to hunt for parking at nearby plazas, where prices ranged from 20 euro to 70 euro. It’s about a 20-minute drive from Alhumbra, but the route is uphill, so Uber or a taxi is a better option.

Belén checked us in and out and was efficient and very helpful. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the Congress centre, and we chose it for its location and underground parking at €19 per day. The room was comfortable, spacious, and mostly quiet, with a kettle, tea and coffee, and a safe, though you need to ask for the safe key. Parking spaces were okay, depending on your car size and how neatly the next person parks. The entrance is just before the hotel, with a short parking bay in front. The garage uses the same entrance and exit, which can be awkward when cars are coming and going at once.

We liked being a little outside the centre. Most points of interest are still within walking distance, and a stop on the single-line Granada Metro is nearby. The room was nice and the beds were comfortable.
