For a budget place to sleep, I’d come back. The price is good and the location makes it easy to enjoy Granada’s nightlife. The old building has been turned into a well-equipped hostel, with a clean, functional kitchen and bathroom. The dorm was decent, though ours felt a bit cramped, with little space for bags and belongings; maybe the other rooms are larger. The beds were only average. Fine for a few nights if you mainly need somewhere to sleep, but for a more comfortable rest or a longer stay, I’d look elsewhere.

For 9 euros a night in Granada, this is hard to beat. The hostel was the cheapest in town when I booked, so I expected a bad location, but it turned out to be right in the city center, with everything close by. The staff were really friendly, thanks Iris!, and the beds were decent, with crisp sheets. Showers had very hot water and the bathrooms were clean, though there was some mold on the ceilings that could easily come off with a soapy sponge if they cared to clean it. Some of the bad reviews make me think people expected five-star hotels for dirt-cheap prices. Just don't expect luxury or room service, you spoiled brats! Enjoy 😁

We were very comfortable in the four-bed dorm, which we had to ourselves for two nights. The beds were from Ikea and creaked with every movement, but I get that costs have to be kept down for us to pay so little. Everything was clean, the location was fantastic, and we were impressed by the value and the staff at cathedral rooms.

I always judge a stay by what I get for the price. At 9 euros per person for a double room, 18 euros total, this felt like a five-star deal to me. The room was small but clean and warm, with a pump heater. The shared bathrooms were clean, and the location was so central that the next step would be sleeping inside the cathedral. There’s also kitchen access. If you’re on a budget, where else in Granada will give you a private room at this price? Maybe the people unhappy with the place should pay more to be happier. For me, THIS is THE place to sleep in Granada!

I felt completely disgusted by what happened after my stay at Cathedral Rooms and Houses. I spent one night there, then woke the next morning with itching all over, from my legs up to my arms and the side of my face. I didn't think much of it at first and drove a long way to Alicante. Once there, I noticed large red marks everywhere, and the itching sent me to a pharmacy for advice. The employee recommended going to the hospital. I was given injections and medicines at 8 pm and had to buy a lot of medication. I believe I was bitten by bedbugs or mites at Cathedral Rooms and Houses. Instead of enjoying my holiday in Spain, I ended up visiting hospitals, waiting hours for treatment, and spending a lot on healthcare and medicines. Seven days later, I'm still being treated and expect that to continue for two or more weeks. This was my first road trip without problems, and I'd planned it for a long time. The place told me this had never happened before and that they hadn't seen any bugs in the room, which didn't feel like a serious answer. They should take care of guests even after a visit when something like this happens. It seems more important to them to take deposits for things they don't want to lose than to keep rooms clean. I'd advise future guests to ask for a deposit as a guarantee against getting sick the next day. That would be fairer.
