The neighborhood is the highlight, with winding, hilly streets that seem unchanged for hundreds of years and one of the best views of the Alhambra. Staying in a place literally built into a cave is unique, though it can feel a little stuffy. You can walk downhill easily to the historic Albaicin, but getting back means tackling a steep incline. If you arrive by car, expect some tight maneuvering on the way there, a bit like “Crazy Taxi.”

I’m staying in cave 3 now, and it’s wonderful. Peaceful and romantic, away from the hordes. It’s super clean, has all the facilities you’ll need, and Consuelo the owner is lovely. Do what you can to stay here.

The cool caves were a blessing during the heatwave in Granada. We enjoyed the free wifi, the relaxed, down-to-earth feel of the area, and the amazing view from the narrow street out front. Generalife and Alhambra are right around the corner. Service and hospitality were excellent. Sacromonte and the caves have steep streets and lots of stairs, so you’ll need to be in okay shape to get around. Highly recommended!

A comfortable, great experience, and a great area for staying near the Al Hambra and Granada. I’d definitely recommend it. Just a heads-up for light sleepers, the bedroom doors are curtains, so beware if you’re staying with someone who snores. 😀
