Eurostars Puerta Real Hotel

My parents, who are in their mid-70s, accidentally booked July instead of June because of the European date format. Expedia was willing to refund or change the reservation if the hotel approved a waiver. The hotel wouldn’t even shift the booking by a month for the same stay. Other hotels on that trip, Hilton and Hampton, corrected the mistake right away. This was clearly an honest mix-up by older travellers, and the response was rigid and unhelpful. Extremely disappointing customer service, and not the hospitality I’d expect.

It’s well placed for getting around to the main attractions, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern and spacious, with clean beds, comfy mattresses, a great shower, lots of room for clothes, and tea and coffee. The place was reasonably priced and very clean. Breakfast was the low point: the coffee machine kept running out and the hot food was cold. Still, we had fresh fruit, toast and cakes, so we didn’t go hungry.

Right in the center, and it had everything we needed for Andalusia. We booked one of the cheaper rooms, which was small and looked onto the backyard, but it was quiet, clean, and full of lovely details. I’d hesitated between a few hotels and ended up far happier with this choice than I expected. Breakfast was the same each morning, though there were plenty of options and several hot dishes, enough variety for a couple of days. Now I’m curious what the larger rooms are like. Definitely recommend it.

We had a good stay, and the location worked really well for us. The staff were professional and helpful, and the room was very clean. Breakfast was okay, with good self-serve coffee and a nice decaf option, though the eggs could use improvement. One thing I really disliked was the attached hangers.
