La Casa del Cantaor

We loved the bright, spacious apartment, with lots of windows, a small balcony, full kitchen, and fridge. Its location in the Albaicin was fantastic, within walking distance of the Alhambra, the Arab Market, bars, and restaurants. The view of the Alhambra was mesmerizing. Owner Eduardo was courteous, professional, helpful, and friendly throughout. The place exceeded our expectations in every way, and I truly can't say enough about it or Granada. I'll definitely stay again.

The location and atmosphere were lovely, tucked into Albaicín's enchanting streets while still central enough to get around easily. The old building has traditional character, fountains, tile, a small patio, and some Alhambra views. The hosts communicated ahead of time, shared a thorough set of local recommendations, made check-in easy, and left us a bottle of wine. They were wonderful. Just be ready to walk and avoid bringing heavy bags. We stayed in January 2023 and booked the smaller room with the loft bed, as expected. What we hadn't expected was a cockroach. We killed it and told the hosts, who apologized and said these things can happen in an old building. The loft was smaller than it looked in the photos, and its bed creaked a lot and had a poor mattress, so I wouldn't recommend it for a couple. Noise from other guests walking overhead also made sleeping hard. Water leaked through our ceiling, apparently from guests showering above us, and the WiFi sometimes wouldn't connect at night. We managed with unlimited data. The location, ambiance, and hosts were great, but we'd probably stay elsewhere next time.

WOW, we had the deluxe room with a view, and the Alhambra seen through the windows was mesmerizing, truly magical and breathtaking. The house has kept its original details and been updated in a way that preserves its incredible charm. The owners were kind and welcoming, with special, unique touches for guests. We'll be back!!!

The owner never answered me on Airbnb or anywhere else. They were out of town every single day, and the apartment's dryer was broken. I asked about it and got no response or solution. I also asked whether we could store our backpacks, again with no reply. Then the owner blamed me for not asking in person, though there were no instructions saying that was possible, they were away every day, and the four-storey building has at least three apartments on each floor. How were we supposed to know which door to knock on? Even a hostel would have been a better experience. There are plenty of places in Albaycin with similar offerings and at least basic communication. The owner charged a five-star hotel price for this. Absolutely disappointing.
