Líbere Granada Catedral Serviced Apartments

I’m 62 and have traveled a lot, and this was a really poor customer service experience. I booked two nights in October through booking.com at a very competitive price. Later, when I checked the reservation page, it showed two bookings. Since it was late and I didn’t want to bother the property, I tried to cancel what looked like a duplicate and ended up losing the whole reservation. Booking.com was impossible to reach, so the next morning I asked the property to reinstate us at the original rate. The replacement rate was much higher, and after a lot of messages they refused. I used to list a four room property on here, so I know the rate could have been changed, despite their claim that it couldn’t. They gave me lip service and seemed uninterested in helping. My impression was that they were happy to let us go and sell the room for much more, about 30% more if I remember correctly, even though there was still plenty of notice before the booking date. It spoiled our three week vacation.

Communication was prompt and helpful, and the service was good. The location was good too. But the restaurant downstairs was extremely noisy, with people yelling late into the night. The washing machine was louder than anything I’ve heard before, and the hallway had a nasty smell, a mix of garbage and something burnt.

We had a good stay overall. Our family of five booked two apartments, and check in went smoothly with the entry and apartment codes sent by email. Everything was very clean and the location worked well, with dining nearby and the train station about a 25 minute walk away. The apartments had a washer, microwave, and basic kitchen utensils. The fish odor from the restaurant below lingered in the stairwell, and cleaning machines outside made noise at night, though the owner obviously couldn’t control those things.

The place looked promising at first, but we were disappointed. The coffee machine was broken, the floor and towels were dirty, and the shower leaked.
