There was plenty of room, with a good kitchen and lounge area, and we could leave our luggage in a secure cupboard on our last day before heading out. The hotel sits in a lovely building on a small, peaceful square, with a couple of nice bars nearby. We had a drink at Lemon Bar and the Jazz cafe. We had a great stay in Grenada.

The check-in lady was sweet, but the hospitality so far has been disappointing. We arrived at 11 noon and were told again and again that we couldn't go to our room before 4 pm. The place looked empty, yet they wouldn't let us in even at 3:45. That's the latest check-in time I've heard of, and every hotel tries to accommodate an early arrival. We also couldn't use a washroom, so after a journey we had to go find one outside. The internet isn't working today, but we're apparently supposed to just understand. I thought this was a hospitality business. After reading another guest's review about towels and washing dishes, we're on guard now. This hasn't been our experience during a month of travelling in Spain, and I assume the problem comes from management.

The apartment was a lovely place to rest, especially after a full day out. We stayed five nights in Granada after visiting Sevilla, Cadiz and Ronda, and had a spacious, modern apartment with beautiful furnishings. I was sick for two days, so I could rest in the bedroom while my husband went sightseeing or relaxed in the living room. The owners were super friendly and helped us arrange a private guide to visit the Alhambra. The renovated residence is in a quiet plaza, within walking distance of the Cathedral, other sights and restaurants. It felt like a peaceful oasis in Granada.

The host was warm and welcoming, spoke Spanish, English and French fluently, and gave us great tips for our visit to Granada. Palacete 1620 is spacious and really nice, with lots of little touches that made it better than anywhere else I've stayed. Everything is conveniently close by. We had an incredible stay!

We spent three nights here in September this year and, despite being upgraded to a larger room at check-in, I can't recommend it. We chose it mainly because it was adults only and wanted to avoid children's noise, but the park across the street had screaming children in the afternoons and barking dogs through the day. At night there were drunk people walking home or talking outside, and garbage trucks came in the early hours. They claim Granada's quiet hours are 11 pm to 7 am, but it certainly didn't feel quiet at Palacete. The cleaning policy was another issue. The hotel charges extra for cleaning stays of less than three days and fines guests who don't wash the dishes. This wasn't openly explained on the website or during booking; I included a photo so others can know. We stayed exactly three nights and had a big debate just to get fresh towels. They refused to clean the apartment for that stay, and we had to go down to reception to collect the towels. The receptionist said she couldn't come up to the room, though she could come up to check its cleanliness.
