Being so close to the beach was a plus, and the room was cleaned and towels changed during our stay. But for the price, I expected better. The toilet sometimes wouldn’t flush, the room felt dated, and the balcony doors were broken. I might have overlooked the older interior if the bed had been better and come with a proper sheet instead of a thin piece of fabric. El Medano may be in high demand, but it still felt overpriced for what we got.

The staff were pleasant, but the owner never responded to our complaints. There was no hot water in the shower for more than four days. The place was dirty throughout, with floors and surfaces left unswept, unmopped, and unwiped, and the sink taps covered in years of built-up spit, toothpaste, and limescale. Towels and sheets had holes, and there were bare electrical sockets in the bathroom. The advertised breakfast bar and room service weren’t available, and there were no facilities.

It’s cheap, clean, and breakfast is included, so it was totally worth it for a hostal. The beach at el medano is an easy walk away. There’s no kitchenette, which I guess is just a matter of personal preference. Enjoy!

A good budget spot for a relaxing break in El Medano. The rooms are basic but clean, with a TV and bathroom, and it’s only about three minutes on foot to the beach, bars, and restaurants.

The room was spacious and clean, and having a fridge was handy. Staff were friendly too. The location is great, right by the beach and close to all the town’s hustle and bustle.
