You’ll need a car to explore the area, though several hikes begin right in Grazalema. Reservations for the best ones are free but required, for example through the tourist office in the village square. The apartment was charming, in one of the most picturesque white villages, and very good value. Check-in and check-out were self-service; we only contacted the owners by text.

A lovely village and an ideal spot to relax.

We had to leave because smoke had filled the house, after first putting out the fireplace with water. It wasn't working properly, and that night we nearly died from all the smoke in the living room. It was freezing, the radiators didn't work, and we're still waiting for the owner to answer the WhatsApp message we sent.

It's a nice place to visit. At the cafe on the corner of the square, try the Payoyo cheese tatya. You'll love it.
