Hostal Altamira Guadalupe

I don't get why people go to the places packed with tourists when this spot is just down from the main square and hard to beat. I was in a hurry and rushed through my meal, which was my own fault because the food was excellent and I should've taken my time. The staff were helpful, everything was spotless, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The main issue is the awful noise. With nothing to absorb the sound, you can hardly hear the people at your own table. Apart from that, it's a decent ordinary-menu restaurant with nice food.

The beef stew was even better than the excellent Extremadura-style migas, and the cod was very good too. We finished with delicious rice pudding and a spectacular quince and cheese dessert. Highly recommended. And, as Mr. Cocituber says, they bring the bill at the end.

I came to Extremadura hoping to eat plenty of migas, and after trying several places, I can say the ones here are outstanding. The portions are generous for a more than reasonable price. Highly recommended.
