Hotel Meridional

The half-board food was great, but do try the à la carte menu too. For a drink with a view, head to the Sky bar. Our room had an amazing view, and the hotel felt calm, quiet, and relaxing. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back.

We ate at both restaurants and preferred the Mediterranean one, which felt a bit more relaxed, though the food was great at both. The rooftop bar was nice, but the music felt dated and there wasn’t much atmosphere. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. My sea-view room was lovely and spotless, and the location couldn’t be closer to the beautiful beach. I didn’t check out the pool because the beach was right there. I’ll definitely come back.

The location was great, about two minutes from the beach and ten minutes from shops and restaurants. Our balcony had a beautiful beach view, and the pool was a nice alternative when we didn’t feel like going to the beach. Breakfast had a good range, the shower was spacious and comfortable, and housekeeping cleaned the room daily and left fresh towels, though the towels still felt cheap. Staff were friendly and polite, with no complaints there. The restaurant is an unknown for me since I only had the free breakfast included with my upgraded room. There were a few annoyances. The fridge didn’t keep drinks cold, so we brought a cooler and filled it with ice each day. The hotel doesn’t provide ice, have a machine, or sell it. The air conditioning blew only lightly, and even at its lowest setting the room never got properly cold. The towels felt bargain-store cheap for a four-star hotel. The beds aren’t fixed to the wall, so when travelling as a couple, expect them to slide around. Shaded parking is a big plus, but you need to reserve a spot or park in the hot sun.

We’d never before been allowed to keep a room until 6 pm, so that was a real bonus with our late flight. We’d just finished a six-night stay at Hotel Meridional and really enjoyed it. The location right beside the beach was perfect, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating, nothing was an issue. We only ate at the hotel once, on our last day for lunch, and wished we’d gone sooner. The food, service, and value were the best we had all week. Would highly recommend.
