The owner was kind and really helpful, answered our WhatsApp messages quickly, welcomed us, and gave us useful information. We stayed as a family of three. The rooms were good and noise wasn't a problem. I'd stay here again if I come back to Barcelona.

Carlos made us feel at home right from the start, greeting us warmly and taking the time to introduce us to the place. We spent seven days here on a family trip to Barcelona, and the apartment was comfortable, beautiful and spotless, with everything we needed to relax. Getting around to the city's main sights was easy from this great location. Carlos and the accommodation helped make the whole week smooth and happy, with lots of good memories. We'd definitely come back.

The building is about 150 years old, with interesting architecture and an elevator straight out of an old European movie. It sits in a lovely area that felt local rather than touristy, and it reminded me of growing up in Greenwich Village in the 1950's. From there we could walk to the usual sights. When we were tired, taxis were useful, and in Spain they're cheap compared with major US cities. Carlos was a terrific host and communicated well before and during our arrival. He shared helpful tips on restaurants, places to see and getting around Barcelona. There were grocery stores within two blocks, and plenty of cuisines nearby. The restaurants were reasonably priced, mostly had local customers, and the food never disappointed. All in all, a great historic hotel.

Carlos is the sort of host who makes a place memorable. He's warm, a real pleasure to meet, and has the soul of a host. I've stayed in well over 100 hotels, Airbnbs and other places, and his home away from home will stick with me. The rooms are spacious and clean, with lovely stained glass and tile details that feel like stepping back in time. The historic building also has a retro elevator with its quirks. Bravo, Carlos. I hope you do really well, and that I get to see you again when I'm back in Barcelona.

The location was spot on, and Carlos was one of the best parts of our stay. He was so friendly and made us feel welcome, with great advice on how to make the most of our weekend in Barcelona.
