Playas de Guardamar Hotel

Don’t fall for the same scam we did. The hotel is blue, not white. The food was simple, neither traditional nor original, and I struggled to find something to feed my child.

The direct beach access is great, and all rooms have a side sea view. If you want a beach holiday or a large pool, it’s ideal, though I’m doubtful I’d stay again. The hotel is very isolated. There’s a public bus into Guardamar, but I had to hire a car. It’s a lovely big hotel with a good-sized pool and plenty of sunbeds. The rooms are basic but have what you need, including toiletries. I ate in the restaurant three times. The food was lukewarm at best, though the buffet was good for 17 euros. Bring your own beach towel, or walk into Guardamar and buy one for 6.99 euros. Hiring a beach towel costs 3 euros a day, or 42 euros for 14 days. The indoor pool costs 3 euros for two hours, and the in-room safe is 5 euros a day. Parking is 8 euros a day. There’s free parking outside, but it’s always full. I’m at the hotel now, so this is an up-to-date review.

A clean three-star hotel with friendly staff. The bar food was fresh and nice, and it was a great place for a quiet week away in May.

I’ve stayed here three times now and enjoy a chilled-out holiday, so the location works perfectly for me. It’s lovely being so close to the beach. I should learn more Spanish. The woman working at the bar during the day made me laugh while cooking me a very large pizza. I didn’t get her name. Thanks for a lovely holiday 😘
