Residencia Marista Santa Maria del Mar

Absolutely shocking room. Since we had a small dog, they put us in an annex and charged extra for it. There were no toiletries or clothes hangers, and tiles were missing from the bathroom wall. The shower curtain didn’t reach the tray, leaving the floor wet and really slippery. Worst room I’ve ever stayed in.

The young man managing reception by himself when we arrived was very kind and helpful. The pool looked nice, though some sunbeds were worn out and the tiled area around it wasn’t cleaned daily. Continental breakfast starts at 9, but get there early, as they didn’t seem to replenish much once food was gone. Finding Maristas was a problem. The map reference was useless and sent us into Guardamer town; hours later, we were told it was in the la marina camping area. I wouldn’t call it a hotel. During our five days there, the rooms got a wipe-down once, and that included fresh towels. The back rooms, like 315, were very basic and gloomy, with noisy traffic audible. The front rooms at Maristas looked renovated and seemed to have good views. Maybe it just wasn’t for us, and you get what you pay for.

The food was wonderful, and the service and hospitality were excellent. There was a fantastic musician too. Great value for money. We’ll definitely go again and recommend it.

The views are stunning at this nice hotel in a beautiful park. It’s a little old, though.
