Rural Mirasierra

Beautiful place, kind staff, and easy to find.

The views are beautiful, but I won't be coming back. We arrived with high expectations from other guests' comments and were shocked by the room: the towels were torn and dirty, the TV didn't work, there was no hairdryer or bottom sheet, and the only heat was a radiator during a very cold weekend. Breakfast was very limited, and the restaurant was very cold. That morning, other guests were reporting the same problems.

We were very happy we chose to stay here, and the value for money was unbeatable. For five days we woke up to incredible views of snow-capped mountains from our bed, then came back tired from walking and went straight into the whirlpool tub. The room was rustic and spacious, warm, with very comfortable beds. Breakfast was more than adequate, and the hotel was clean, pretty, well located, and incredibly quiet. The staff were friendly and attentive the whole time. A colleague familiar with the Sierra Nevada and Granada area suggested Güejar-Sierra as a halfway point. We liked this hotel's location and photos, though the reviews had made us a little concerned before we booked.

The views were beautiful, and the receptionists were friendly. They even kept my baby's purees in their refrigerator, since the room had no mini-fridge. But I left extremely disappointed. The hotel doesn't deserve its star rating: the beds were incredibly uncomfortable, the so-called suite left a lot to be desired, and neither the jacuzzi nor the TV worked. Requests were never brought, the hammock-chair was broken, and the terrace was pointless without even a table and a couple of plastic chairs. Breakfast was a problem too. During the week nobody was there, and it took 20-30 minutes to get them to refill the very limited food.
