We went in winter and the room was so cold. The heaters were controlled, and we couldn't turn them past 24 degrees. When we said we were cold and wanted to turn the heat up, they told us the weather was good. We got sick, and the service was awful. The staff were really rude. I wouldn't stay here if you want to avoid getting sick.

The staff were really friendly, so I highly recommend this place. The building and grounds look like they belong at a four-star hotel, and there's even a heated pool.

After a long day hiking, we loved sitting and reading in the cosy downstairs lounge, with its piano and sofas. I can imagine it being even nicer in winter with the fireplace lit. The place itself is beautiful, great value, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was nice, and dinner was excellent. Get the soup, it comes with a surprise! The cod and sauce were brilliant too, and I hope I can recreate the sauce at home. The one downside was the Wi-Fi. It kept disconnecting while we were there, and getting back on meant going through a more complicated username and password process.

The owner was so attentive and caring that he even gave us a lift to the bus. The staff were very helpful, the place was extremely clean, and breakfast was great. We had an excellent stay.
