Bardal de Huerta

The room was small but clean and comfortable, and there was a kitchen we could use. We’d asked for a double bed but got a twin room. The river setting is nice, though the owners could pay a bit more attention to guests. We’d sent our arrival time hours ahead, but when we got there the hotel was completely closed up. We had to text the owner to come check us in. The restaurant and bar were shut too, as they only open on weekends out of season, so we went to a neighboring village for food. At breakfast, a table had been laid for a big party, but there was nothing set up for us, so we left.

We got there early in the morning, and the waiter was happy to serve us and was very kind.

The price was very good, and I wouldn’t mind staying here again. We spent the night as a family in a small, rustic, somewhat old building right in the village beside the Tormes River. It has two floors and around ten rooms. We had something like an apartment, with two bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom, and a kitchenette tucked into a small cupboard. There were fans, but it was still quite hot, so air conditioning would be a welcome addition. The service was decent.

A really peaceful place, with very clean rooms and everything we needed. The best part was how well we were looked after. Don’t expect luxury, but everything was more than fine, and Salamanca is just a short distance away. Highly recommend...
