Hotel La Unión

It was okay.

The room was dirty when we arrived: sand on the floor, dust under the bed, and long hairs in the bed when we pulled back the sheets. It also smelled strongly of tobacco, and I had to buy allergy medication. The air conditioning only worked with the light switch and didn’t produce any hot air. What was described as a “city view” was an inner courtyard with a boarded-up window and cigarette butts. There was a strong marijuana smell in the hallway from other guests, and when we got back Saturday night, the room still hadn’t been cleaned. We booked two nights at Hotel La Unión in Humanes de Madrid, and it was a terrible experience from the start. The hotel listing mentioned a bidet, hairdryer, and safe, but none were in our room. The parking lot looked more like a furniture storage area. I also don’t think this place is suitable for families or children. There’s an adult-oriented establishment right across the street, and we saw some of its guests using rooms in this hotel. That made the setting uncomfortable and unsuitable for a family, especially at night. The stay was very unpleasant and nothing like the description. I don’t recommend it.

The receptionist working there was exceptional and quickly sorted out a booking issue with Booking.com. The rooms were clean, and the value for the price was excellent. Although the hotel is in an industrial area, it’s very quiet on weekends, so you can relax without noise.
