Hostal Costa

I ended up being more than happy with my stay at Hostal Costa. It looked better than I expected for the price, was clean, and the air conditioning worked great. Cleaning was every two days. The bus stop is five minutes away on foot, Lidl and Aldi are about ten minutes away, and Figueretes Beach is around fifteen minutes away. The bathroom door sometimes wouldn’t close properly, so you’d better be very comfortable with each other when it’s time to sit on the throne. The walls are thin, but I heard the same noise issue at other Ibiza hotels, including much pricier ones. To me, the real issue was inconsiderate guests. One night people were noisy in rooms and the hallway, then others came back from clubs in the morning, got locked out by their roommates, and made a racket. Some were just too drunk to care that others were sleeping. A few ladies also spent two or three hours clomping around in high heels while getting ready to go clubbing, instead of wearing slippers until they put on their cowboy boots. The hotel rules included a €200 penalty if other guests complained about noise. The manager applied it to the people making noise the next day, and after that things suddenly got quieter. I want to congratulate the managers for having the courage to enforce it. In my experience, simply asking people to be quiet at 2, 3, 4, or 5 in the morning, as other Ibiza hotels did, didn’t work at all. This kind of penalty is the only way to make some people think of others.

For a short visit, up to two nights, I’d recommend it. There’s no elevator, and the hostel is a bit far from the beach, cafes, and restaurants. If you want a morning coffee at the hotel, there’s only a vending machine in the building. The staff speak English. The room and bathroom were both small, though clean. Towels were clean and they provided some soap. If you’re a bigger person, showering could be a struggle. I took the pictures just before leaving, since I forgot to photograph the room before settling in.

Hostal Costa was nice, though expensive for what you get, and the room was very small. It was practical to walk around and enjoy the area, with the beach, fort, and old town all about a 30-minute walk away.

After a night out, it’s nice to come back and rest in such a calm, peaceful area. The hostel is only about 15 minutes from the beaches, and the rooms are tidy and clean, with air conditioning and private bathrooms. You even get a big mirror, so there’s no need to go for an Airbnb! The ladies at reception are soooo nice and happy to share tips about the island. Enjoy your stay 😘💃
