Apartamentos Lido

The complex was peaceful, with large, comfortable, clean rooms and a partial sea view. The staff were very friendly. My one small gripe is the pool schedule: it doesn't open until 10 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. in June. Closing the whole pool area so early seems crazy. The lifeguard could be a bit cheerier, too.

The staff were really friendly, and our apartment was lovely and clean. It's in a fantastic spot, too.

The location was great, right beside the beach, and the hotel and apartment were clean and refreshed, though a little dated inside. The service was the low point. We asked to borrow an iron and had only $100, but the hotel required payment in €10, so the receptionist wouldn't lend us one. She had been rude at check-in on our first night and stayed unpleasant throughout our visit, including over the iron. We felt badly treated, so I'm giving just one star.

Our room was much bigger and cleaner than I expected, and the cooking utensils and cutlery looked new. We were in room 114, with a balcony over a busy street, but the bedroom faced the other way and was very quiet. The bus stop is across the road from Lido, though it's not clearly marked. A nighttime taxi to HI or Ushuaia costs 7.8 euros. The hotel website has much better prices, so I'd book directly. I recommend it.
